Choral Grams

Choir members will be selling Valentine’s Day choral grams at break and both lunches starting THRU TOMORROW. Cost is 2.00 per gram, includes song and a small candy item. Delivery on Tuesday Feb 14th during 6th period.

 

FROM CAMPUS MINISTRY:

Applications to Lead Quest 30 from March 18 -19th are now available in Campus Ministry.

They are due TOMORROW, Feb. 10th to Ms. Kehoe.

 
Applications to Lead Kairos 37 from April 29th – May1st are now available in Campus Ministry.

They are due Monday, Feb. 13th to Ms. Kehoe.

 
Applications to ATTEND Quest 30 in March are now available in Campus Ministry.

It is a first come first serve basis.

 
Any student who attends the Mardi Gras dinner and Service Opportunity on Feb 21st will receive 2 service hours.

 

Notre Dame is offering a summer conference on the Notre Dame Campus for any high school student who is interested.

WHAT: Notre Dame Vision focuses on our call to live fully in Christ and they will do this through large group experiences, small group exercises, liturgies, and music.
WHEN: There are multiple dates that we can sign up for in June and July. If you are interested, please come into Campus Ministry and sign up and we will all gather together and choose a date as one.
The Cost: $300/person if we sign up before April 1st!

The Annual Diocesan Youth Rally is coming to Manogue March 2-3!

 Friday night starts off with a concert by John Angotti and the Rally begins Saturday morning at 9:00. High school students interested in attending the Rally can sign up at their parish or see Ms. Saunders for more information. The registration deadline is February 14th.

 

FROM LEADERSHIP:

It’s a Valentine’s Day Blood Drive! This Feb. 14 give a gift that can really touch some hearts.

Friends and family encouraged to participate. Appointments must be made through Mrs. Huggins. Donation Forms are available from Mrs. Huggins or at the Attendance Window.

 
Mardi Gras Dinner and Service Project

Tuesday, February 21st, 5:30-7:30 pm in the Student Community Center
Kick off the evening in style with all the traditional Mardi Gras flair, then enjoy dinner with your family and friends. After dinner, it’s time to “Give Back Like Jack”. We are hosting a community service project in honor of local philanthropist Jack Reviglio. We will break out the washcloths, glue, and googly eyes as we join forces to make “Boo Boo Bunnies” for local children receiving medical treatment. All materials will be provided. We just need your help!

$ 5 – advance purchase individual ticket
$20 – advance purchase family package (5 dinner tickets)
$7 – purchase at the door – NO FAMILY PACKAGES at the door
Kids five (5) and under eat FREE!!

FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE:

Junior Parent Night has been rescheduled for Thurs., March 1 at 6 p.m.

This is a change from the original date of Feb. 16. The change was made to avoid conflict with the Girls Regional Basketball playoffs. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents.

Attention Juniors!!!

There is an opportunity to participate in a Multimedia Boot Camp held at UNR from June 11-21. The two week camp will offer rigorous instruction by the UNR faculty in a wide range of media and research activities. Instruction will take place in the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center and will provide students and access to and training in a full range of multimedia equipment and software. The Boot Camp graduate that exhibits the greatest potential will be named a Smallwood Foundation Scholar and awarded a one year $2,500 Undergraduate Assistantship to attend UNR. In addition, the student will be given a paid job in @One, the Knowledge Center’s multimedia area, during their undergraduate career at UNR. BMCHS can only nominate one student for this experience. Interested juniors need to sign up on Ms. McClintock’s door.

Seniors!!!

You should be ready to submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) after the New Year. Even if you don’t think you will qualify for student aid, most scholarships require this. Please start your process on www.fafsa.gov

Attention Juniors!!

Open to academically talented and civic minded students is the opportunity to be chosen as 1 of 40 students nationally to participate in The Notre Dame Leadership Seminar. The deadline to apply is February 15, 2012. Applications and more information are available at precollege.nd.edu.

Attention Juniors!!

If you are interested in competing in The Garaventa Center Catholic High School essay contest through the University of Portland, please see Ms. McClintock for instructions. You have the opportunity to win $500 or $250 if your essay is selected. All final essays are due to Ms. McClintock no later than Friday, February 17th. The top four essays will be submitted to the University of Portland to be reviewed.

Swim Team Information

Open swim is February 13, 15, 20 & 22 at Double Diamond Athletic Club 8 – 9:30 p.m.
Dry land training is February 14, 16, 20 & 23 at 2:45 p.m. in front of Main Gym. Try-Outs at Double Diamond Athletic Club February 27 – 29. TBD.

Team Meeting: TODAY, Feb. 9 at 2:45, in the community center is the first team meeting/sign-ups/information etc. All hopefuls and former team members need to attend.

 
Track & Field Information

Track has begun! Pre-season practices Monday – Thursday from 3:00 – 5:15. Any track & field athletes who are not participating in another sport are encouraged to come work out!
