Winter Sports Information

Hi Parents,

There’s a lot happening as we gear up for the Winter Sports season.  Below you will find tryout/practice/meeting information for the various sports, and remember Athletic Clearance Packets must be turned in to the office by Nov. 11, 2013.

Girls Basketball Tryouts

  • Saturday, November 16: 10 am – 12 pm (Freshman, JV and Varsity)
  • Monday, November 18:
    • Freshmen: 6-7:30 am
    • JV: 5-7 pm
    • Varsity: 5-7 pm
  • Tuesday, November 19:
    • Freshmen: 6-7:30 am
    • JV: 3-5 pm
    • Varsity: 5-7 pm

Boys Basketball

  • Saturday, November 16:
    • Varsity: 8 – 10 am and 12 pm – 2 pm
    • JV: 8:00 – 10:00 am
    • FR: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Monday, November 18:
    • Freshmen: 5-7 pm
    • JV: 6-7:45 am
    • Varsity: 6-7:45 am, 3-5 pm
  • Tuesday, November 19:
    • Freshmen: 5-7 pm
    • JV: 6-7:45 am
    • Varsity: 6-7:45 am, 3-5 pm

Ski Team

  • Parent/Athlete meeting, Tuesday, November 12th from 5:30 to 6:30pm in the Student Community Center.  This is a mandatory parent meeting for all athletes who want to ski race for Bishop Manogue AND their parents.  It is very important that all athletes attend with a parent as we will go over the calendar for the season, team selection protocol and equipment requirements, as well as release forms and payment of fees.

Wrestling Practices (no tryouts)

  • First Practice: Saturday, November 16, 10am-1pm
  • All subsequent practices with be held after school from 3 to 5:30 pm beginning Monday, November 18.

And finally don’t forget about our upcoming Parent Like a Champion Today workshop, led by Lynn Kachmarik of the University of Notre Dame, on Monday, November 18. “Parent Like A Champion Today” is centered around Catholic principles, and is designed to empower parents with best practices for creating a positive sporting experience and sports culture for all student-athletes.  All parents are welcome!
