Congratulations to our 2014 Prom King and Queen nominees: Ian DeValliere, Glenn Gansert,  Scott Hinxman,  Harrison Holetz,  Dominic Zamboni, Mary Glenn, Breezi Holt, Lauren Mazurowski, Hope McGowan, and Elyse Zerweck.

Help this Student Project

Two of our students, Lauren and Megan Larson will be traveling to Barcelona, Spain in April for soccer.  They discovered that one in three children in Spain lives below the poverty line, and so decided to organize a project to help the children of Barcelona. Between now and April 1, they are inviting Bishop Manogue students to bring in school supplies—pencils, notebooks, glue sticks, crayons, etc.—which they will they will distribute when they are in Spain.  Donations should be brought to the Campus Ministry office.  Cash donations, are welcome, too, and will be used to purchase additional supplies.  Thanks in advance for helping them reach their GOOOOAAAAAALLL of helping out some kinds in need!

Help These Students

We are looking for a host family for one of our current international students for the remainder of the school year, and for next year.  He is from China, likes classical and pop music, singing along, watching TV, and playing games. An ideal host family for him would be an outgoing family with lots of energy, high expectations, and close supervision. If you’re interested in being an important part of a nice young man’s life email nicole.browne@bishopmanogue.org.  International student host families DO receive compensation.

We are also seeking a Host Family for a 10th-grade Foreign Exchange student. This young lady from Germany would like to become part of the Manogue family for the 2014-15 school year, but she won’t be able to have that wonderful experience if we don’t find a host family for her by March 31.   If you are interested in providing a home-away-from-home for a young person who wants to see new places, learn new things, and meet new people, please contact Nicole Browne at nicole.browne@bishopmanogue.org as soon as possible. By U.S. law, we cannot provide compensation for hosting an Exchange Student, but there is still much to be gained by sharing with and learning from these bright and adventurous kids.  Please consider it!

Prom Prep

Order your flowers for prom AND support Manogue leadership.  Red Carpet events is offering online pre-order of prom corsages and boutonnieres, and will donate $5 from each order to Manogue Leadership.  Just click on this link, then on “Add to Cart” beneath Manogue High School and you’ll be brought to a page where you can choose from a number of designs.  Not what you had in mind?  You can also call and order something custom—we’ll still get the donation! Flowers will be delivered to Manogue, and available on the day of prom (April 12) at about 10 am. Brilliant!

Aly’s Prom Closet open through April 26. This program was created in memory of one of our Bishop Manogue graduates, Aly Christiansen, and helps to students with a demonstrated need get a dress/shoes/tux/etc. for Prom. If your child is interested in taking advantage of this program, they can see Miss McClintock in counseling.  And if you have gowns or jewelry you can donate, you can bring them to Mrs. Paine in the front office.

Senior Parents! Tell Us All About It

Please let us know when your child receives any scholarship offers and or acceptances to ANY college or university—not just the one they have chosen, or will choose, to attend. This information will be compiled for the Academic Awards and Graduation programs.  Please send a copy of award/acceptance letters to Dr. McBride by April 18, which will allow us to meet our printing deadlines.

ALSO, mark your calendars for our first-ever Senior Parent Dinner, May 3 at the Tamarack Junction.  This is strictly for FUN, ‘cause you deserve some, too.  Watch for more details soon.
