TOMORROW, April 1st is Senior Day

Seniors may wear jeans (NO HOLES!!) and college sweatshirt. Lunch will be served in the Auxiliary Gym at 11:00 a.m.

 

 The Rosary is prayed every Tuesday morning in Christ the Teacher Chapel at 7:55 a.m. — All Are Welcome!!

 

Weekly Mass will be at 7:20 am on Thursday, April 3rd in the Chapel. Please note the change of day and time. All students, staff, and parents are welcome!

 

Attention AP Students:

All AP students (excluding studio/portfolio art), must attend the AP Pre-Administration meeting held Wednesday, April 16th at 7:30am. At this meeting, we will complete all demographic sections of the AP answer sheets and go over expectations. Your attendance is mandatory. If for some reason you are unable to attend the pre-administration meeting on this date, you must contact Dr. McBride in the main office (775) 336-6002. All AP Studio/Portfolio Art students must complete their registration online. Please see Mrs. Falk for instructions.

 

 Prom is Saturday, April 12th: 7 – 10:30 p.m.

Aly’s Prom Closet information!!

Aly’s Prom Closet IS NOW OPEN thru April 26 to students who have a demonstrated need for Prom Attire. It is located on the 2nd floor in the Shopper’s Square Shopping Center. Hours will be: Tues. & Thurs: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturdays: noon – 4 p.m. Qualified students will receive a prom dress, shoes, jewelry or standard tuxedo rental at no cost to the student. This program was created in memory of one of our Bishop Manogue graduates, Aly Christiansen. Please see Miss McClintock ASAP if you are interested. All requests are confidential.

ALSO: if you have any “gently used” gowns that you would like to donate to Aly’s Prom Closet, please bring them to Mrs. Paine in the Main office.

 

Do you know we have a Lost & Found?

We have several items that have been found around campus in the Front Office. Have you lost a piece of jewelry? Glasses? Calculator? Etc. . .It may be here. Please ask and we will see if we have it.

 

Student Vehicle Registration

All vehicles parked in our parking lots during school hours must be registered through the school. Also please make sure your permit is hanging from your rearview mirror. If your vehicle is not registered through the school, you are subject to being towed as stated in the Parking Contract. Parking Contracts are available in the Front Office.

 

Senior Formal portraits are available for purchase online at www.jeffspicer.com.

Go to the senior section, click the drop down tab and click on senior portraits. From here, click on the image that says Senior Formals. On the next screen, enter the password senior2014.

Our Lady of the Snows Scholarship for Seniors

SENIORS who are members of Our Lady of Snows parish are encouraged to apply for the “Making a Difference” recognition award of $1,000.00 sponsored by the OLS Women’s Auxiliary. Information on how to apply is available from Ms. Michels in the Counseling office. Deadline for submission is TOMORROW, April 1st at 4:00.

World History Honors Challenge exam information

All current freshman that have requested to take world history honors next year, must report to the student community center at 3:00 TOMORROW, April 1st for the challenge essay. Please meet in A112 between 2:45 & 3 pm before the exam. If you are currently in English 9(H), you are exempt from taking this test. All other students must take this challenge essay in order to be placed in world history (H). There will be no exceptions, so please make arrangements with parents and/or coaches. This essay should take no longer than 45 minutes-one hour.

Reno Police Explorers Information

Reno PD Explorers will be here on Tuesday, April 8th for both lunches in the Library.

Nevada Boys State Information for current Junior Boys

Event dates: Sunday, June22nd-Saturday, June 28 at UNR
Please go to http://www.nevadaboysstate.org/pros/ in order to get an idea of the program and what’s expected and to apply. Applications are due online by TODAY, March 31st. The program fills up fast so please don’t be late with your application submission.

Academy Information Day

From Campus Ministry:

Service opportunity for Freshmen or Seniors

Help out at the Just Between Friends’ bi-annual consignment sale that supports family charities. The event is May 2, 3 and 4th. Times are 9 to 9pm. Contact Katie Colling 842-2545 or katiecolling@jbfsale.com. You will be organizing sales items, assisting customers with bags, and conversing with people in hold area.

Junior Service hour opportunity

Reno Continental Little League is doing a kick off day. They need our face painting and activity skills on April 12th from 9:30 to 2 pm at the Reno Continental Little League Fields. Contact Angie Noland at 775-857-8244.

Senior service hours opportunity:

Seniors if you are interested in participating as a mentor to a local youth please contact Lisa Paden at the Boys and Girls Club. The mentoring is new opportunity for seniors.

Little Flower Food Pantry

Little Flower Parish runs a food pantry on Tuesdays 3:30-6:00. Help sort food and distribute. If interested, please call Robin Wright at 775-830-7005.

Nevada Youth Empowerment project

Nevada Youth Empowerment project is looking for students to act in their behalf as outreachers. You would be advertising by going to places where young people are (mall, movies, river, citicenter, college, schools, downtown, etc) and hand out bracelets and flyers and put up posters to get the word out about the Homeless youth count event. Boys & Girls club of Truckee Meadows is looking for new volunteers.

They require an orientation held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 5:00 at our main location (2680 E. 9th St. Reno, NV 89512). If they are over 18 years old, we do have to fingerprint them in order to run a background check. Once oriented, help them with many special events. Plus build a relationship with a great charity by volunteering regularly during the week – Monday – Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm or Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm. Catholic Heart Workcamp

Catholic Heart Workcamp is a 4 day summer service camp held here at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. Cost is $250.00- earn all your year’s required service hours but the 5 required during school year. You work during the day and have Christian fellowship in the evening. Talk to Cobb to still sign up.

Junior Service hours – Tutoring Opportunity

Little Flower lost many tutors to spring sports and needs new tutors to help with their 3 to 4:30 Monday thru Thursday tutoring program. Email Mrs. Russell at krussel@littleflowerschoolnv.org if interested.

Junior Service Opportunity:

St. Albert’s Elementary School is in need of tutors! If you are interested, please contact Erin Pryles (counselor) at #398-5634 or epryles@stalbertreno.org.

Freshman, Sophomore or Senior Service Hour Opportunities:

Sophomore and Junior Service Opportunity:

Finally for some dedicated sophomores or juniors, two students are in need of some one on one attention. Recommended for those interested in Early Childhood education. You will be assisting girls starting in Sept and running until May on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30.
