Bishop Manogue Rifle team brings home 2nd place from State
(Reno, Nev., Feb. 3, 2017) – Bishop Manogue Catholic High School is proud to announce a second place win for the school’s Rifle team from the State Rifle Sectionals, held recently. The Rifle team, only three years old with 34 members, four of which competed, won the state trophy for precision shooting with 10 targets at 3 positions, prone, standing and kneeling, at the 10-meter mark, all timed.
“I am extremely proud of this team and this win” remarks Rifle team coach and dean of students, Don Johnson. “They work hard to practice, hone their skills and take this team seriously, and it was thrilling for them to bring home a state trophy.”
Students of the winning team include Abbie Tate, Josie Vaughn, Lucas Testa, and captain, Natalie Mantor. This is the third time in three years the young team has gone to state and they certainly plan on this tradition continuing in the future.
