Please join us TOMORROW & every Tuesday morning for Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church at 8:30 am and rosary in Christ the Teacher Chapel here at Bishop Manogue at around 9 am — All Are Welcome!!

TOMORROW, April 4th is Senior Day

Seniors may wear jeans and college sweatshirt.  Lunch will be served in the Auxiliary Gym at 11:00 a.m.

 

We are on a Late Start Wednesday, April 5th.

Classes begin at 9:00 a.m.

 

Attention students:

The school’s accreditation team is looking for a group of students to provide administrators and teachers with feedback on the school’s overall student programming such as the Catholic identity, curriculum and instruction, and student support services like counseling, tutoring, and others that we offer. If you are interested in participating, please contact Dr. McBride by emailing her or stopping by her office during lunch, break or after school. Her email address is located on the Bishop Manogue website.

 

Aly’s Prom Closet information!!

Aly’s Prom Closet IS NOW OPEN thru April 29 for students who have a demonstrated need for Prom Attire. It is located on the 2nd floor in the Shopper’s Square Shopping Center.  Hours will be: Tues. & Thurs: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturdays: noon – 4 p.m. Qualified students will receive a prom dress, shoes, jewelry or standard tuxedo rental (tuxedos for those in foster program only) at no cost to the student.  This program was created in memory of one of our Bishop Manogue graduates, Aly Christiansen.  Please see Miss McClintock ASAP if you are interested.
All requests are confidential.
ALSO: if you have any “gently used” gowns that you would like to donate to Aly’s Prom Closet, please bring them to Mrs. Paine in the Main office.

Seniors!

Please turn in copies of ALL your college acceptance letters and scholarship award offers to Mrs. Welmerink by Thursday, April 13th.  This includes letters from UNR.

SENIORS!!! – UNR Scholarships

Two additional scholarships are available to graduating seniors that will be attending UNR in the fall. Students must be 100% committed to attending UNR this fall. If you wish to be considered, please sign-up on Mrs. Welmerink’s door by Friday, April 21.

Service Academy Information Day

Students interested in applying to military service academies should plan to attend the Academy Information Day on Saturday, April 22 at the University of Nevada Reno.  This day will include exhibits and a program discussing each academy as well as the process for seeking congressional nominations.

Scholarships!

The last scholarships have an extended deadline! Returning students: check out the Scholarships page of the website for your chance to earn a scholarship for the next school year – you have until April 13th – complete it today!

Freshmen and Sophomores

The Nevada Youth Legislature is soliciting applications from current freshman and sophomore students who are interested in learning about and taking part in the state government. The members of the Youth Legislature work closely with their elected state senators and representatives. Students participate in trainings, meetings, hold town halls in their district, work to propose legislation and testify before local government bodies. Nevada Girls State Applications for Juniors

Applications for Nevada Girls’ State are now available! This interactive week-long program allows students to participate in a mock government to better understand how our republic works at both the state and national levels. Smallwood Multimedia Boot Camp for Juniors

The Smallwood Multimedia Boot Camp is looking for juniors interested in learning more about multimedia technologies. This two week camp will be held at UNR in June. If you are interested in applying, see Mrs. McClintock.

Operation Easter Basket

Operation Easter Basket needs your donations of filled Easter Baskets, $20 maximum value before April 7th.  See the flyer in the Campus Ministry office or call Jordan Stiteler at 775 322-7073 ext. 242.

Our Lady of the Snows Nursery- Volunteer Opportunities:

April 9th and 23rd
May 7th and 14th
Volunteers would be responsible for providing supervision for children ages 6 months to 5 years of age during the 9:30 mass. An OLS Young Adult Minister will always be present as well and all toys/materials are provided.  Volunteers are simply needed to ensure we maintain a 1:4 adult to child ratio. We ask that volunteers come 15 minutes prior and stay 15 minutes after mass has ended for drop off and pick up.

Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteers needed for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada Gala on April 8th. We are looking for 10-16 students from 2:00 – 5:00 to help set up tables for the Gala.  Please see email for contact and more information: torreycrawford@hotmail.com.

 

Please Remember: the Parking Lot is off limits during school hours!!

Students have all been issued school lockers. PLEASE DO NOT use your car as your locker as the parking lot is off limits during school hours. You may NOT go to your car for a forgotten binder, book or assignments or to get lunch or break money or food!!  All these items should be brought into school in the morning and placed in your school locker. The Office will NO LONGER issue passes to the Parking Lot during school hours.

 

Do you know we have a Lost & Found?

We have several items that have been found around campus in the Front Office.  Have you lost a piece of jewelry? Glasses? Calculator? Etc. It may be here. Please ask and we will see if we have it.

There is a full lunch meal available every day for $6.50.
