Bishop Manogue is committed to preparing each of its students for higher education through a rigorous college prep curriculum. We are also equally committed to addressing the needs of students requiring special services through our Integrated Learning Center and International Program, and fostering the spiritual growth of all students through our Campus Ministry Program.

Fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement is a shared goal of administration, faculty and students. The educational philosophy of everyone at Bishop Manogue includes the belief that what we do must make a significant difference in the lives of our students.

Our College Prep Curriculum

Courses designed to prepare students to meet the minimum subject requirements of the Nevada System of Higher Education, University of California and California State University Systems are an integral part of the Bishop Manogue academic program. However, most of our students progress well beyond these minimum requirements by taking advantage of the many higher-level courses and academic opportunities offered:

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Courses: AP courses are college-level classes and exams that require a high level of commitment from students. Students who pass the AP exam given at the end of the course may receive college credit once enrolled, allowing them to move on more quickly to higher-level courses. Bishop Manogue offers AP courses in Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Environmental Science, French, Latin, Physics C:Mechanics, Psychology, Spanish, Statistics, Studio Art, United States History, and United States Government.
  • Foreign Language:  Bishop Manogue offers Latin, Spanish, and French, with Honors and AP courses offered in all languages.  The school strongly encourages students to take at least three years of a foreign language.
  • Fine and Performing Arts:  Bishop Manogue offers programs in the visual arts, and Performing Arts, including: Liturgical Music, Guitar, Choir, Drama, Theater Production, Sculpture, and Studio Art.
  • Internships:  The Internship Program is designed to give juniors and seniors an on-site experience in a chosen career area. Internships require considerable off-campus commitment, and provide the opportunity to experience a career interest firsthand.
  • Electives:  Students may choose from a variety of challenging electives to nurture their interests and prepare them for the future.  Some include Sports Medicine, Ethics, Community Health, Leadership and Debate.
