In the early years of their marriage, Louis Capurro Sr. and his wife Bella began their ranching career in the meadows at the base of Rattle Snake Mountain in Washoe County Nevada. Their only son, Louis Capurro Jr., was an excellent student who worked long hours on the ranch while attending school. After graduating from The University of Nevada, Louis married Genevieve Dondero. Their three children Allen, Randy and Corinne were raised on the Longley Lane Dairy farm.
Louie established an Insurance Agency in downtown Reno shortly after his marriage and proceeded to become a successful businessman and active community leader. Both Genevieve and Louie used their combined strength and energy to support many community non profit organizations.
In retirement, Genevieve and Louie established the Louis Capurro and Genevieve Capurro Family Foundation. Their children and spouses were the Foundation’s first Board of Directors. The current Capurro Family Foundation’s Board is made up of Louie and Genevieve’s eight grandchildren. In keeping with their grandparent’s wishes the Board strives to provide Foundation grantees with opportunities for education and personal growth so that they, in-turn, can “pay-it forward” for the betterment of the community themselves..
